By 2030, according to experts, Russia's share in the global LNG market could grow to 15 percent. The liquefied gas that has not yet been produced has already been sold for 20 years ahead. And today, despite the sanctions, the Yamal LNG project does not slow down.

In April, a tour of the construction site was held for the leadership of the Yamal municipalities. The heads of cities and districts were invited to see for themselves the scope and prospects of the strategic idea.

The scale of this construction is best seen from the air. A couple of years ago there was nothing here but old barracks. And now the village even has its own airport. It opened only in February, and has already received 18,000 passengers.

Since February of this year, Yamal LNG has been organizing regular passenger flights to the cities New Urengoy and Moscow with subsequent expansion of the route network. The airport is primarily designed to serve shift personnel, this year the planned number of passenger traffic will be about 150 thousand people, and in the peak years of the project implementation it will exceed 300 thousand people.

The commissioning of a modern international airport built as part of the large-scale Yamal LNG project is an important event not only for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, but for the whole of Russia. Given the active development of the Arctic, the Sabetta airport can be widely used in servicing passenger and cargo transportation in this remote region, including international ones.

international Airport Sabetta is one of the first Russian Arctic airports built from scratch. The airport corresponds to the first category of ICAO and can receive almost all types of aircraft. LLC "Sabetta International Airport" has a certificate of conformity of the aerodrome, a certificate of state registration of the aerodrome, is certified for all types of airport activities.

For the first time, all the heads of the Yamal municipalities gathered in Sabetta. The tour starts from the territory of the future plant, there is still a pile field.

Giant reservoirs have already grown nearby, from which liquid gas will be pumped into gas tankers. Guaranteed reserves of the South Tambeyskoye field, the gas of which will be processed, are 1.2 trillion cubic meters of blue fuel. The Yamal LNG plant will produce 16.5 million tons of liquefied gas per year. At the same time, a resource base has been prepared, which makes it possible already today to create a capacity of up to 70 million tons of LNG in the area of the Sabetta port under construction.

About 9 thousand people already work in Sabetta. At the peak of construction, there will be 15,000 of them, and a new one is quickly being built on the site of the old village. The construction has already given work to many Yamal residents. But the main thing, of course, is ahead.

“Currently, construction is underway. The site employs 9,000 people. In February alone, 65 ships were accepted. The project is already in a high degree of implementation, probably 30 percent of the main work has been completed, all horizontal work has been completed, piles have been driven, large RVSs for liquefied natural gas are being installed, ”Dmitry Kobylkin said at a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in March this year.

Investment projects implemented in Yamal, such as Yamal LNG, the Sabetta port, the Bovanenkovskoye field, the Northern Latitudinal Railway and others, are the growth driver of the Russian economy, so the pace of their implementation should not slow down. This was stated by the Governor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev at the IV International Conference "Yamal Neftegaz-2015", held on the 20th of May in Salekhard.

“The Tyumen region is actively involved in the implementation of investment projects in the district, however, the regional government is directing efforts to expand cooperation, in this matter we find understanding from both the district leadership and representatives of the oil and gas industry,” Vladimir Yakushev noted.

“Yamal is not only a Russian, but also a global pantry. In the next 50-60 years, at least, this region will be the main point of growth for our country. The infrastructure is already quite developed here, the region is rich natural resources. The Polar Urals, the Arctic shelf, many oil and gas fields, proven reserves in them - this suggests that Yamal will remain the main driver of Russian economic growth in the near future, ”said the head of the region.

According to him, the development of Yamal will also have a favorable effect for the Tyumen region. Research institutes, design institutes, oil service companies, machine-building enterprises oriented towards oil and gas production in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and YNAO are traditionally developing in the region and working for the large Tyumen region.

“In the long term, approximately 50-60 years, Russia has no other such powerful project as Yamal. Today, its development gives jobs to specialists and orders to enterprises throughout the country,” he said, comparing the importance for the state of the development of the peninsula with great era formation of the fuel and energy complex of Western Siberia.

The head of the region emphasized the great role of oil and gas companies in the development of the social sphere, healthcare, and education. “These investments pay off a hundredfold, because we invest in people, invest in the future, this is our common cause,” summed up Vladimir Yakushev.

Through the port of Sabetta, along the Northern Sea Route, not only liquefied natural gas, but also other cargoes should be transported. This was stated on May 27 by Igor Kholmanskikh, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Urals Federal District, at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.

“At the construction of a plant for the production of liquefied natural gas within the framework of the Yamal LNG project, 90 percent of the main and auxiliary sites have been prepared. The installation of foundations for gas turbine units is underway. Liquefied natural gas storage tanks are in varying degrees of readiness. Only domestic contractors are involved in the implementation of the Yamal LNG project, all work is carried out by Russian workers and specialists,” emphasized the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation.

About 14,000 people will be employed during the construction of the plant, and after its completion in 2018, 1,400 jobs will be recognized at the enterprise, Igor Kholmanskikh said.

northern path

Sabetta received more than 1.1 million tons of cargo in 2014, demonstrating an almost threefold increase. Thus, the Yamal port under construction now provides almost a third of all traffic along the Northern Sea Route. This year, Sabetta is to unload three million tons of cargo ashore, of which two million will be delivered along the Northern Sea Route. These are modular structures of the future natural gas liquefaction plant, elements of LNG storage tanks, drilling and other equipment. And already in 2017, the shipment of the first batches of products will begin. From 2020, it is planned to poison 16.5 million tons of liquefied gas and 1.2 million tons of condensate from Sabetta annually.

Right on time

Leonid Mikhelson, head of NOVATEK, assures that the Yamal LNG project will be completed on time. The first stage of the plant, designed to liquefy 5.5 million tons of natural gas from the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field, is promised to be launched in 2017. In total, they plan to build three lines. The cost of the project exceeds $27 billion. Currently, however, there are technical difficulties in the currency in which funds are raised from Chinese banks. However, all problems must be resolved before the end of the first half of the year.

Will China help?

The Yamal LNG project may receive financing from Chinese banks. Up to $13.5 billion can be transferred by the end of 2015. According to Bloomberg, referring to Patrick de la Chevardie, CFO of the French oil and gas company Total, Chinese banks have signed a preliminary agreement on lending to Yamal LNG. Chevardier also announced the continuation of negotiations with export credit agencies to obtain additional funding.

At the same time, the management of Yamal LNG was forced to start negotiations with foreign shipping companies. Sovcomflot, which won the tender earlier, was unable to conclude an agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering on the construction of five icebreaker-type gas carriers. Although under the terms of the contract he was obliged to do this last year. Therefore, Yamal LNG itself has entered into an appropriate agreement with a Korean shipyard and is now looking for buyers for the ships.

Around the world

Yamal LNG expects to receive up to $13.5 billion from Chinese banks. Earlier, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation bought the company's bonds for 74.9 billion rubles. This is only half the amount approved by Dmitry Medvedev's government. In addition, an agreement was signed with the Belgian Fluxys LNG, which undertakes to build a tank for storing liquefied gas with a set of related equipment in Zeebrugge. In turn, Yamal LNG will receive the right to the exclusive use of these facilities. The cost of this agreement exceeds one billion euros, which the Russians undertake to pay to the partner within 20 years from the date of commencement of gas transshipment. The adopted scheme of supplies along the Northern Sea Route provides that in the summer period hydrocarbons will be exported by reinforced ice-class tankers directly to the markets of the Asia-Pacific region, and in winter they will be transshipped in Zeebrugge on conventional tankers for subsequent transportation through the Suez Canal.

On the world stage

Eugene Kot, CEO Yamal LNG noted the ever-increasing role of liquefied natural gas in the global energy balance. Due to the shift in demand to new markets, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region, traditional pipeline supplies are often simply technically impossible.

The development of LNG projects is the future of Russian gas on the world stage, the speaker is convinced. - Our company is implementing a pilot project in Yamal, designed to produce 16.5 million tons of liquefied gas per year. At the same time, a resource base has been prepared, which makes it possible already today to create a capacity of up to 70 million tons of LNG in the area of the Sabetta port under construction. Our efforts should be directed towards the realization of precisely such global goals. And here coordination between the government and subsoil users is extremely important. The following projects will use the experience we have already gained, run-in technologies and equipment, with the maximum possible localization of production in Russia.

Didier Barbandière, vice president of Technip, assures that international sanctions will in no way affect the success of the Russian-French-Chinese project. The plant in Yamal will ship the first batch of gas from Sabetta via the Northern Sea Route in 2017. The French have a lot of experience in this matter. It was Technip that, using its own technology, back in the 1960s built the very first LNG plant on the planet - in Africa.

Sabetta is class!

The Yamal LNG Arctic project, which Russian NOVATEK is implementing jointly with French and Chinese partners, continues to develop rapidly. If in the outgoing year 27 ships with cargo arrived at the port of Sabetta, which is still being developed, from abroad, next year it is planned to pass 100-150 ships through customs, which will deliver more than three million tons of imported cargo to the construction site. The creation of a full-fledged seaport is planned to be completed by 2016.

And already in 2017, despite all the international sanctions, Sabetta promises to send for export the first gas carrier with liquefied natural gas from the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field. Dmitry Kobylkin, Governor of Yamal, is convinced that after the completion of the construction of a multifunctional seaport in Yamal and railway to Sabetta, many Russian regions through the Northern Sea Route will have access to the oceans. This project will open up new opportunities for further development of the Arctic territories.

LNG PLANT IN YAMAL

An LNG plant with a capacity of about 16.5 million tons is being built right at the South Tambeyskoye gas field, in the Gulf of Ob. The construction involves a modular type of installation, which seriously reduces the financial costs of construction and determines the schedule for the implementation of the project. This project will contain 3 natural gas liquefaction lines with a capacity of 5.5 million tons each year. The first launch is scheduled for 2017. Taking into account the low average Arctic temperatures, much less specific energy is required for the gas liquefaction process, which makes it possible to achieve large volumes of LNG production compared to projects located in the South and using similar equipment. the mixture from the wells of the field will pass through gas gathering networks to a single complex for gas treatment and liquefaction. Further, at the entrance of the complex there will be a separation process. The inlet facilities include units that regenerate methanol and stabilize the condensate. The separated natural gas will go to production lines, where liquefaction and purification from acid gases and methanol will take place, as well as drying and removal of mercury, extraction of ethane, propane and other heavy hydrocarbons. Further, already purified natural gas will be supplied for cooling and liquefaction. LNG will go for further storage in isothermal tanks closed type. It is planned to build 4 tanks with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters each. m. each. Work at the LNG plant IN YAMAL vacancies - read on.

Tickets for the flight Moscow - Sabetta cannot be bought: they are taken there only according to lists and a passport. There are simply no other options, respectively, random people - too. Red Wings drove there, back - "Yamal". I checked in last, which resulted in a nice bonus, but more on that later. It was unusual to see only adults in line for boarding - sober, calm, without jokes and jokes. Everyone knows where and, most importantly, why they fly. No crazy mothers, no wild animal breeders. A striking contrast to "resort" flights.

The only joke was when a lathered man jumped up to us, who needed to go to Simferopol, and almost flew away with us to Yamal. We slightly kept the intrigue, but nevertheless admitted that Sabetta is not a resort, although it is also on the peninsula. He still managed to get on his plane.

Main square of Sabetta

The captain of the aircraft announced that the airport in Sabetta was overloaded and that we had to wait a bit. Okay, we're waiting. And we are waiting, and we are waiting ... Finally, we were towed, the pilot fired up the engines and drove himself, but at every intersection he stood and let everyone through!

We fed deliciously in flight - I didn’t even expect this from actually rotational transport. And the bonus is that I was sitting at the end of the plane, but alone on three chairs. I thought I'd take a nap, but it was so beautiful behind the porthole that I couldn't get away from it. Yes, and it was also convenient.

Arrived in Sabetta. Here everything was, on the one hand, easier than in Domodedovo, and on the other hand, it was more difficult. No frills like a bus from the plane to the building, but you have to wait a long time for luggage and it is inspected for alcohol. Really look at the conscience. If something raises questions, you need to open the trunk and show it, and it doesn’t matter how tightly the things are packed. Refused - prepare 50 thousand fines.

Nobody refuses. Alcohol in Sabetta, in the settlements and throughout the South Tambey license area (UTLU), including the LNG plant, is under a complete, absolute and total ban. Even in the church they don’t take communion with Cahors. The temple, by the way, is blessed. I decided to go there from arrival - I got to a feast. We sat, talked, told different stories. Met people again.

Temple in the middle of Sabetta.

In general, there are many prohibitions, but they are understandable. If you don’t understand something yourself, they will explain it at the briefing. Explained in simple language. For example, you cannot interact with the local fauna. If a polar bear- it is clear that he will tear you apart purely out of curiosity, even if he is not hungry. If a polar fox, then it is not known what is on his mind, plus rabies is quite possible. I didn’t see polar bears here, I won’t lie, but arctic foxes run around garbage dumps like cats in cities, and the most daring ones beg yummy from people.

Smoking is allowed only in designated places - on the street in ventilated iron sheds. The order at YUTLU is monitored by security, the law and order - by the police department.

For violation of the rules - either a sensitive (five-six-figure) fine, or deportation. Although there are violations with six signs, but without deportation. For example, booze. Since they drown here brutally, then put the mash - like two fingers. They will feel you drunk - and you yourself will owe money, and your office, and twice as much, but they will not send you home. Eat, they say, go on, bring us the loot. But deportation means that the deportee will never again - neither next time, nor from another office - be able to come here. The only way to come here again is to change your passport. There are people who, for one reason or another, do not drink, who in Sabetta are like fish in water. There are people who specially come here for a shift as for rehabilitation with occupational therapy - because they are unable to stop drinking on their own.

One of the streets of Sabetta. In fact, there are no streets as such - there are only hostel numbers, between which there are passages. All communications are laid on the surface: the permafrost, after all.

More about fines. Tighten the heating in the room so that it doesn’t fry so much - get to 30 thousand. To be at the factory without overalls - minus five percent of the salary for each time. Lack of personal protective equipment (helmets and goggles) - in different ways, depending on the zone where you were caught without them. Lack of insurance when working at height - again, deportation.

About the weather. You come from Moscow to the Arctic - you think, pipets! The next day, the temperature drops to -3, you think: now kick it. The next day, the wind rises from the Arctic Ocean (and I must say that Yamal is almost even and nothing prevents the wind from blowing), you think: now it’s definitely kick-ass! The next day the sun comes out, the wind does not stop, the temperature drops even more, you think: well, okay. The next day is just as cold, but the wind stops blowing, fog comes from the ocean, and you think: in the heat!

Sunrise on Sabetta.

The wind, if it exists, turns the cigarette out of the mouth (because of this, the habit of holding a cigarette with your teeth quickly appears), blows through the fastened zippers on the clothes, and if one of the clothes is not fastened, there is a possibility of losing it. The habit of fastening appears instantly. The wind can really blow a helmet off your head or a yellow vest off your body. At first, it is surprising that all ladders, even if they are two or three steps, are equipped with railings, but when the wind rises, you understand that this is a necessary thing.

In Sabetta there is, as I said, a police station and a first-aid post. The fire department is located at the plant, where firefighters go. With the strict rules of Sabetta, a fire in the village is unlikely, but at the plant for the production of liquefied natural gas, it is quite natural to play it safe. In two weeks, I saw the police only once, but the ambulances go. The main function of medicine here is to treat cuts and abrasions and keep the rabies vaccine ready. If someone is seriously ill, give a certificate, on the basis of which the person goes home ahead of time so that he does not spread the infection and does not parasitize. No simulation is required: in the first-aid post, when applying, they directly ask: “Do you want to go home?” - and, if you want, - good riddance.

In general, it is quite possible to get bored there if these shifts and business trips are treated as exile and hard labor, and not as an adventure. The people, who are weaker, go crazy - it is easier for doctors to send home a yearning person than to strengthen and isolate someone who has already "gone".

Ordinary landscape. Wires and drilling - there is nothing more to catch on the eye.

At YUTLU, everything is done to ensure that people who come there work and do not get fooled by everyday issues: what and how to eat, how to sleep, where to wash and how to maintain hygiene. Literally all questions are closed. I wrote about heating. In hostels on each floor - rooms with washing machines and dryers. On the ground floor there is a separate warm clothes dryer. Cleaning in the room - every other day. Change of bed linen and towels - once a week.

Each person is entitled to a pass - a plastic card, to which money for food is credited daily. Three times a day they are fed for slaughter, but even with my appetite, without denying myself anything, I could not gobble up the entire amount.

About leisure. There is a sports complex with iron and a playground. You need to sign up for iron two days in advance. I didn’t swing - I just regimen and ate. On the site you can play any playground games: volleyball, mini-football, badminton and tennis, there are ping-pong tables. Communication with civilization throughout the area - only via satellite. And it is poor for the user: the voice on the phone in Sabetta keeps well, at the factory - with big interruptions (the mobile phone is not really needed there: everyone has a walkie-talkie), the Internet is only Edge. I saw 3G once, but it quickly fell off. Local network - only in offices, for mail, Internet access is very limited. Wi-Fi is available in some places, but is strictly password-protected. People come with gadgets, watch movies and series, and change with each other on flash drives fresh.

There are two attractions in Sabetta: the torch of the LNG plant, which is visible from everywhere, and the temple. I was also impressed by the old buildings of hostels, in which shift workers and border guards used to live - houses knocked together from boards. There is no one in them now, but they are standing, and this is very expressive. Such a house is quite suitable for a room for a museum of these places. Although the village is young and small, the history here is already rich.

One of the old hostels.

It's cool to see how harsh and gloomy guys during the day poke through cracks and secluded corners in the evenings and coo on the phone with family and friends. Another powerful contrast: life is everywhere. And in a rustic way (in a good sense of the word), couples walking along the streets create a good feeling.

New hostel building. There are many of them in Sabetta - everyone lives there.

In general, there are no random people there. People are different: from all over Russia plus the French, Indians, Turks, Serbs. The Germans make concrete - with German thoroughness. And everyone is really equal.

More about the torch. The torch is a meditative thing. It is really visible from everywhere, and if it is hidden behind buildings, then the whole sky is illuminated with such a flickering red-yellow light. It looks fantastically beautiful: on a non-figuring tower, a column of fire from 20 to 50 meters in height, plus sometimes, when something difficult is burning there, black smoke also flies.

Several times I had to be near him. Well, how close. The first 220 meters from it is a sterile zone where entry is prohibited, and you yourself do not want to go there. But you don’t want to, because already half a kilometer away from it you can barely hear your neighbor because of the hum and it really fries you. From the torch you can warm your hands, like from a fire. You get out of the car and think that spring has come, it's warm: there is mud around, there is no snow at all, well, you think that you can walk without a hat in one helmet. And here’s the hell there: as soon as you go into the shade from some structure, you understand that you had to put on a hat, because in the shade it’s the most winter, that is, the snow crunches, and the ears from cold rolls up into a tube. But already a bummer: you can not remove the helmet. The village of Sabetta is located a few kilometers from the plant, our building was on the last line - and so, there is always a feeling that an airliner is flying over the house, only the source of noise does not fly away.

About local rules traffic. I took my driver's license with me and thought that it would be possible to saddle some six-wheeled TREKOL and drive it through the tundra, or drive it around in a pickup truck on icy roads. Fuck everything: fines for traffic violations are about 10 times higher than the "mainland", the speed limit is 50 km / h, and all cars are equipped with GLONASS, you can't hide. Even if you think that no one will notice your violation, the track is constantly being written and randomly checked every few days. The order on the roads is monitored by several services at once, including the traffic police, and discipline is maintained by mutual responsibility. In the tundra, on the "bushes", the opposite is true. There is only one rule: loaded transport has an advantage. Dot. There are no more rules, ride as you like. It looks crazy at first, but then you get used to it.

In short, with an optimistic attitude, time on a business trip to Sabetta is perceived as extreme, but damn interesting vacation.

ABOUT SABETTA

Sabetta is a shift camp located on east coast Yamal Peninsula (YaNAO) near the Ob Bay of the Kara Sea, is the stronghold of the Yamal LNG project.

The name of the village is derived from the name of the Sabetta-Yakha River - translated from the Nenets "river in a hat". However, there are several more versions of the origin of the name: from the name of the trading post “Sovetskaya” converted into the Nenets language to the name of the Sabe clan - the Samoyeds (Nenets) who lived in this area.

In Soviet times, the village was the base of geologists. Members of the Tambey expedition landed in Sabetta in the early 1980s. At that time, there were only a few wooden buildings in the village, typical of ordinary northern villages of the late 20th century. There were many of those back then. Several dozen geologists were engaged in exploration, drilled wells, conducted research.

There are no days off in Sabetta and public holidays, every day is a working day. But, as elsewhere, New Year here, traditionally, a large festive tree is set up on the main square, and on the first Sunday of September, a concert is held in honor of the professional holiday of oil and gas workers. In September 2016, an Orthodox church appeared in the village, which was personally consecrated by Patriarch Kirill.

During the implementation of the Yamal LNG project, all the necessary infrastructure for the construction workers was created in the village, auxiliary facilities of the life support complex were erected: a boiler room, four canteens, a cafe, a hospital, baths, a large sports complex, an administrative complex, a hotel, shops, sewerage and water treatment facilities, food storage facilities.

SABETTA

THE AIRPORT

An international airport at this latitude was built in Russian practice for the first time. When designing the runway and the complex of airport buildings, the complex natural and climatic conditions in the Sabetta area were taken into account: permafrost, swamps, lakes, rivers. In such climatic conditions, prestressed airfield slabs were used as the runway pavement.

December 4, 2014 the first flight took place - a technical one, as a result of which the airport received a certificate of validity of the airfield and a certificate of state registration.

In January 2015, Sabetta Airport received certificates of conformity in the following areas: aviation security, airfield flight support, navigational support, provision of passenger and baggage services for domestic air transportation.

February 2, 2015 Sabetta airport received the first passenger flight. Regular communication with five cities of Russia is organized.

In 2016, Sabetta Airport began to receive international flights.

On May 26, 2017, the international airport of the Yamal LNG project received a "geographical passport".

The airport complex includes an ICAO category I airfield, a 2704 m x 46 m runway, hangars for aircraft, a service and passenger building, including the international sector. The airport can receive aircraft of various types IL-76, A-320, Boeing-737-300, 600, 700, 800, Boeing-767-200, as well as MI-26, MI-8 helicopters. The airport operator is a 100% subsidiary of OAO Yamal LNG, OOO Sabetta International Airport.

During the operation of the airport, more than 490 thousand passengers and almost 6 thousand tons of urgent cargo were transported.

On July 20, 2012, a solemn laying of the seaport took place, located 5 km northeast of the village. ATOctober 2013, the first cargo ships moored at the port berth. On July 25, 2014, the seaport of Sabetta was included in the register of seaports of the Russian Federation.

In March, on the highway of the Northern sea route ice reaches maximum thickness. Nuclear-powered and diesel-powered icebreakers help deliver cargo to Sabetta over heavy ice. Thanks to the Yamal LNG project, cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route has doubled. Since the beginning of the active construction of the project (since 2012), the delivery of building materials and equipment has been carried out on a year-round basis, icebreaking support is used in the winter.

The seaport of Sabetta is a key growth point in the development of the Northern Sea Route. In total, more than 13 million tons of cargo have been delivered to the port since 2012.

SEA PORT

In June 2014, construction of the first two (out of four) LNG storage tanks began. In permafrost conditions, each tank is built on a base of 948 piles 24 meters deep, next to each of which a thermal stabilizer is installed. The concrete walls of the tanks, more than 50 meters high, were erected in a short time, in just 21 days.

The diameter of one tank is 80 meters, designed to store 160 thousand cubic meters. m of gas at a temperature of -163 degrees. For comparison, two Airbus 380 aircraft can fit in the tank, stacked on top of each other.

All four reservoirs have now been built and hydrotested. The main platforms of pumping equipment are installed on the first two tanks.

RESERVOIRS

LNG PLANT

An LNG plant with a capacity of about 16.5 million tons of LNG is being built directly at the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field on the coast of the Gulf of Ob.

The construction uses a modular installation principle, which significantly reduces construction costs in the Arctic and optimizes the project schedule. The production complex will include three gas liquefaction process lines with a capacity of 5.5 million tons per year each. The first phase is planned to be launched in 2017.

In conditions of low average annual temperatures in the Arctic, less specific energy is required to liquefy gas, which allows for higher LNG production compared to projects located in southern latitudes using similar equipment.

After the launch of the plant, the hydrocarbon mixture from the wells will be supplied through gas gathering networks to a single integrated complex for the preparation and liquefaction of natural gas.

Separation will take place at the input facilities of the complex - separation of mechanical impurities, water, methanol and condensate from gas. The inlet facilities include methanol regeneration and condensate stabilization units.

The separated gas will be fed to the liquefaction process lines and will be sequentially cleaned from acid gases and traces of methanol, drying and removing mercury, extracting fractions of ethane, propane and heavier hydrocarbons. Further, the purified gas will be supplied for pre-cooling and liquefaction. LNG will be stored in special sealed isothermal tanks.

The integrated complex will also include LPG fractionation units, stable condensate and refrigerant storage parks, a 376 MW power plant, plant engineering systems and flares.

DRILLING

In early 2013, drilling of production wells began at the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field. Production drilling is carried out using advanced technologies. The field development project provides for the drilling of more than 200 directional production wells with a horizontal ending from 19 well pads.

ARKTIKA drilling rigs were designed and manufactured especially for the project. The rigs are designed to operate in the harsh natural and climatic conditions of Yamal, they are completely protected from winds and low temperatures, which ensures comfortable working conditions for personnel and continuity of drilling throughout the year.

The resource base for the implementation of the Yamal LNG Project is the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field, discovered in 1974 and located in the northeast of the Yamal Peninsula. The license for the development of the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field is valid until December 31, 2045 and is held by OAO Yamal LNG.

The proven and probable reserves of the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field according to PRMS standards as of December 31, 2014 amount to 926 billion cubic meters. m of gas. The potential level of gas production to meet the needs of the LNG plant exceeds 27 billion cubic meters. m per year.

TANKER ARC7

On August 26, 2016, sea trials of the Arc7 LNG tanker began in the waters between the coast of South Korea and Tsushima Island. For the first time, all ship equipment was tested under real operating conditions. The sailing performance of the vessel has been fully confirmed.

The first tanker was named "Christophe de Margerie". The Arc7 tanker is a high-tech LNG carrier of the highest ice class, specially designed to meet the needs of the Yamal LNG project. Design of a gas carrier, a three-fuel diesel-electric power plant, a propulsion system consisting of three Azipod-type propellers, design features of the hull and mechanisms in the arctic version (ice class Arc7 according to the RMRS classification and a set of equipment for operation at low temperatures down to -52 ° C ) - all this gives the vessel a serious competitive advantage and makes it unique.

"Christophe de Margerie" was built in as soon as possible shipyard DSME ( South Korea), which is one of the leaders in the field of world shipbuilding. Leading Russian and foreign research organizations participated in the development and implementation of the project.

At the end of March 2017 ice-class tanker Arc7 arrived in the port of Sabetta. The ceremony of mooring in a straight line from Arkhangelsk was watched by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. “If we act in the same vein and at the same pace, which is even, frankly, somewhat surprising for me, then, of course, Russia, without any doubt, not only can become, but will become the largest producer of liquefied natural gas in the world . We have every reason to think so, to think so, and to achieve this result.”

Vladimir Putin also thanked the foreign partners of the Yamal LNG project. “They believe in this project, actively participate in it, support it both technologically and financially. This is very important if we keep in mind that the global energy markets are not at their best right now. best weather, but we proceed from the fact that the demand for energy resources will increase. We are working for the future,” the head of state stressed.

The President noted that the ship that arrived in the port today is named after the deceased "our great friend, the former head of Total, Christophe de Margerie": "This is very symbolic, it will strengthen our relations even at such a spiritual level." Christophe de Margerie has been in charge of Total since 2007. In October 2014, he died in a plane crash in Vnukovo.
